Meet Jess! Jess and her team work hard behind the scenes to make sure customers receive orders on time and on spec.

What is your role at Mersive?
I’m the Director of Business Operations, better known as the “fast walker”

As Director of Business Operations, I am both a facilitator and a bridge. I manage our orders and logistics teams in provisioning product and getting it deployed to our customers. This includes working with our manufacturing partners as well as our sales and product teams to ensure we stay in sync with demand and upcoming releases. My favorite part of each day is watching my ops team work together to exceed our customers’ expectations as well as show up for each other. We’re “all hands”, and I take pride in working alongside them.  Additionally, I spend time working across departments project managing various company initiatives to ensure proper cross communication and access to resources. One of the rewarding aspects of working with the wider team at Mersive is seeing first-hand the passion and hard work that goes into everything we do.

Before working at Mersive, what was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had?
I worked at a pawn shop for a week. One crazy week.

If you could switch your job with anyone else within Mersive, whose job would you want?
I would love to switch places with anyone on the engineering or product teams. To follow a new feature from concept to release would be awesome.

People would be surprised if they knew what about you.
I’m a first generation American

What did you want to be when growing up?
I wanted to be Julia Sugarbaker (still do)

What do you like to do in your spare time?
Explore new restaurants, record shops or get outdoors and go camping Director of Business Operations

What has been the most important innovation you have witnessed in your lifetime?
AI and Machine Learning – the idea that one day I can buy a car that will drive me around is pretty incredible

What would you most like to tell yourself at age 13?
A person who is nice to you, but rude to the waiter, is not a nice person

Would you rather be a tiny elephant or a giant hamster?
Tiny elephant, every time

What advice do you have for prospective Mersive candidates?
Come to the table with your perspective. Having a clear point of view and sharing what you know and what you don’t know goes a long way. Also, a solid handshake goes a long way.

What are your hopes for our industry?
Right now, the industry is rapidly expanding, and we’re in a younger segment of the market. This allows us to explore innovative feature sets and better attune our road-map to real time customer feedback and trends. I hope we continue to stay ahead of the curve and make a positive impact on the way people work.
